crazy chart

If you can help with charts, please look at mine and let me know what you think! My temps are up and staying above coverline but all tests came back neg for preg. An OPK was almost dark enuf to be positive. I give up. I don't know what is going on. K is worried we stopped prog shots too soon , but temps went up after we did. blah- I hate this cycle that never ends and is ALL SCREWED UP! When I use so much $ time and shots into a cycle, I hate to find out it was a waste of time! HELP!

Progesterone results for this cycle of torture

My progesterone came in at 19.0 today. Not horrible, but not wonderful either. That # tells me I probably had only one good egg released or I am way off on ovulation date, neither of which is good! But it at least is above the panic cut off, so I don't have to increase my shots to 2 a day again. Thank goodness. Nurse never called me to discuss the number, I think they don't want to talk to me anymore, haha. I am not optimistic overall. I think this cycle was all kinds of messed up. Hope everyone is doin' better than me! ;)

Michelle~ always go with 2 vials at least. Learn from my mistakes! LOL (read past posts from recently)

Fertility Friend is depressing me

Well Fertility Friend is putting Ovulation at cd 12, which is sad since I had my iui the morning of cd 13. :( But on a positive side, that is how it was the month I had my tubal pregnancy too. So I know all hope is not lost, but I sure am still kicking myself for not having more sperm to spread around and cover that earlier time frame. pplllleeeaaahhh. Fudge sticks.
My sister said last night that they are really considering moving to W Virginia this fall. Which is horrible, because even if we moved too, it would be the opposite direction. I was hoping she would move to the west coast or near it at least. I have found out the hard way, that it is better to live near family (somewhat near). We wouldn't see my niece, and they would both be far away. I hope they don't go. I was hoping we could all move in the same area somewhere west, then we could drive over for the weekend or something at least, & if her or I was hurt or in labor or sick, the other could drive over- even if it took a good part of a day.
Hope everyone is doing well, & have a good weekend!

Hello spermy, Nice to meet you Eggy

Thanks for you wonderful comments guys. You are all very reassuring and can always make me feel better!

To answer some questions/replies... yes this was Fed Ex shipping from Midwest to my house. Shipping to the Dr probably would have been better. On the other hand, this vial was better than any I have ever had count/motility wise! Nurse even called Dr F over to look at the microscope because she said it was the best frozen specimen she has seen in a long time. Almost every little spermy was swimming when I looked, so that is good. knock, knock...I don't want to jinx myself.

I did have the earliest iui time they would do- 8 am. My temp did not go up drastically yet, so I think I was panicking for no reason, sorry! That pain yesterday morning was the strongest still, but I am just not going to worry about it anymore since I can't do anything about it. All I can do now is cross my fingers and wait. :) Well, and make a mental note to always have 2 vials minimum!

The iui went better than I expected w/less pain and fewer problems searching for my cervix. It wasn't hiding today, so that made things a bit easier. So after planning on a break, we have this one shot thrown in by surprise. Sink or float time. I am now on day 0 of the tww again. FX and if anyone can throw some sticky baby dust, that would be great. I know the odds are not in my favor, I have 1 good tube, no progesterone, and a variety of problems w/my uterus...but there is always a chance and that has kept me going this long. But at some point I just have to be practical & accept that if this iui fails, I will be a mommy sooner if I move on to ivf or adoption. So for now I am visualizing the little swimmers shaking hands with the little eggy and introducing itself. Then I will spend the next 2 weeks making sure my uterus is as hospitable as possible! All embryos welcome here!

I can't help but stress- I think it's genetic

pic is detail of a stained glass panel in Chicago at Navy Pier stain glass exhibit.

I am amazed that even after I have done this for what seems like a million tries, I still get all worked up. I should know better by now than to have only one vial, but I let the dr & nurse talk me into using just one & now I get to freak out. We are doing iui at 35 hours past trigger shot, but I felt O this morning, have started climbing out of pre-o dip on temps, have less ovary aches today, and show cervix/secondary fertility signs. So I am panicking that Wed morning wil be too late, my eggs will be old. I am kicking myself for not having a second vial so I could do one at home this afternoon and cover a bigger fertile window. AAAAHHHH! K says I have to relax right now, or I am going to screw it up from being stressed out. Fine! I'm going to mow the lawn. humph

scaredy sperm

(Supermom, your superbaby is too cute!) My new post on this mornings u/s came up under Friday since it was a draft (I had saved the pic for later use). Now I know better.
I almost forgot to tell you the sperm hoopla. Our vial arrived today from Fed Ex. I got home & it wasn't here, checked website & it says delivered 1/3 hour ago to front door & left sitting. !! I called Fed Ex who said yes it is sitting at ##19--"oh wait it was dropped at the wrong address." ( My address is ##39- not 19.) WTH! AAAHHH! Panic set in.
I had visions of some little old lady calling the bomb squad when she opened the box to find the tank. Or having a heart attack when she started reading the sperm count paperwork. Or the neighborhood kids thinking it would be fun to play with it. Or...?
So then I hopped into my car, home phone still in hand, to try & find my box. There it was sitting on the front porch at ##19, all by it's self. Thank Heavens! So I look at the label & my address is correct and clear, but behind it in pen someone wrote the other address down and that is where he left it. I called fed ex back & told them how I felt about drivers who change the address on the label for no reason! Whew, I turned some hair white I'm sure.

Scrapbooking

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/ this site is great! They have examples for a variety of different Stampin Up! brand stamp sets. They also have techniques pages where they will walk you through techniques step by step. For inspiration go here, especially if you use Stampin Up! products.
I haven't taken pics yet of any cards/scrapbook pages, but I plan to soon. Does anyone else scrap?

ultrasound update ~ Monday June 25 th

So I had my u/s & bloodwork this morning. I have one follie that is 19x19 and one 17x18, both on my left. There are smaller ones too but they are too small to do anything. My right side just had a bunch of tiny ones, also no good. My estrodial was 296 which also shows one maybe two mature follies. Blah. Don't get me wrong, two is better than 1 or none, but when I am on injectibles ( even a low dose) I would really expect more. My other two injectibles cycles I had about 5 each time. So I was not impressed w/2.
The nurse wants me to do the trigger shot tonight and iui Wed morning 35-36 hours after trigger shot. I am worried that that is a little rushed, but am going along with it. My follies are not that big, but they will continue to grow until they release. Hopefully they have enough time to get ready before the big show! Fingers crossed that they are ready in time! I have been having pretty bad O pains for the last few days as they grow. My alternate fear is that they will release on their own before the trigger & iui. My temp dropped this morning & I hope it doesn't signal the start of a pre-O dip. If I do O on my own, the iui would be too late. This is why you should have more than one vial. If I had 2 vials, I would use one at 12 and one at 36 hour past trigger shot. ((((sigh)))) The nurse said not to use another gonal f shot tonight, just the HCG. I have been taking gonal f at 75 iu each day for 3 days and the clomid before that.
If anyone has an opinion and can look at my chart, feel free to let me know what you think! Thanks for all your comments, everyone! :)

Hi friends! I know I haven't been on the boards or posting here for a while, but I had a second & thought I should update here. I hope all of you are doing well! I have been busy lately, it seems like June is the busiest month of the year. I was also pretty depressed and didn't feel like talking much.
Fertility Front: I had basically given up on iui's & thought we would be refocusing on foster/adoption options. Since I had the HSG done though, my RE thinks it will increase chances for a short time & with my one tube damaged, I figured now would be my best shot. So I am doing one more cycle now. After this we will be forced to give up due to emotional/financial drainage. We are tapped out of $ & positive attitudes! DP now always calls buying sperm "another month of throwing $ in the toilet w/nothing to show for it." That is actually how she refers to it! As in..."Oh, that's right, we can't spend money because we are throwing $ in the toilet w/nothing to show for it again this month." I must say I pretty much feel the same way, but I figure while my broken tube is still oiled up and cleaned up, is the right time to give it our last shot. We are doing the same protocol we have been on...clomid/injectible Gonal-F/trigger/iui/PIO shots. I had 5 small eggs and estrodial of 40 something on CD3. They also retested my FSH & it was 6 point something. So we are ok so far. Monday will be my u/s and estrodial to gauge readyness of the follies. I start the Gonal -F tonight. They are not fun, but nothing bad when I think about the PIO- those are not good. The Follistim pen shots were less painful than the Gonal F ( reg needles) if you are ever faced w/a choice. They are just different brands of the same kind of medicine according to the pharmacies. I have been having O pain & am bloated and can't move to much w/out makin' it hurt. I don't mind if it means big healthy numerous eggs. Fingers crossed! My two best months, I went in for my u/s thinking it would be bad news since I didn't have any O pain, so I am a tad worried about this month. Hopefully it isn't a bad sign.
Sperm News: You may know that I offered my last NW D 300 vial up for sale to someone w/a 300 child already. "X" has said she is interested & I am just waiting for the check so I can mail in my Bill of Sale and transfer fee & note to NW. Then it will be hers. I first decided to do this because I thought I wasn't going to try again. 300 is sold out completely & I know there are several families who would love to have a chance for a full sib. I would want that if I were in their shoes. It feels good to know that I can help that happen. Plus if ...(haha), if I were to be able to carry a baby...there wouldn't be any other 300 vials for me to try for a full sib either. So no little red head for me, at least for now.
When everything looked like it was lining up so I had to throw my hat in the ring one more time, I still con't to sell my vial since the RE is doing this iui & he doesn't use NW. <> I have used NW 10 times now and maybe a little change of pace will shake things up a little. I'll try almost anything at this point, which you can tell by the number and size of injections I am willing to let K give me! So we are using a vial from Midwest Sperm Bank (who the RE does use) and will iui some time next week probably. I am not getting excited, it just feels like that last chance try to throw the basketball through the hoop as you are walking off the court. You're not really looking, or expecting to make it, but you toss it in the general area and walk away.
Does it seem weird to you that RE's have certain sperm banks they use & won't use? They don't know the names of the different places even. I would think they would know the names & basic info of all the banks, not just use one & ignore the rest, but what do I know. Midwest is probably handy for the Dr's here since we are close to Chicago.
Convention Talk: If a big NW convention doesn't happen, maybe we could plan a small one somewhere. I know some ppl have gotten together in a couple areas. Maybe we could have a Chicago area one? We will be in Oregon on the coast for Labor Day weekend also, maybe some ppl are in the area there want to get together?
I better try to get somestuff done here. Talk to you later! ((hugs)) Tara

HSG results and stayin busy

I have been trying to get some yard work done. That means it is spring- time to try & identify all the little sprouts and decide if they are a native wildflower (keep), something I planted (keep), or a wildflower that is not native to our area & possibly invasive ( dig out & burn). Hard to do when plants are still small w/a few leaves but no flowers. aargg. That is the reason for the pic of the day. If you didn't know that some of those innocent looking little plants you bought from the garden center & are planting in your garden, could escape- by bird, wind, or roots- and spread over other yards and into our state parks and wild areas....please take a look at that site or any about invasive or alien plant species. The big park near our house, has a battle waging w/burning bush, a popular garden shrub that is invading the park, crowding out other plants and limiting the food/shelter sources for the wildlife. Species diversity is very important, but I'll stop ranting now cuz that wasn't why I logged on here at all!

I did log on to tell you about my HSG test this morning! It was MUCH less painful today, yay! The speculum was worst part, then he gave me a shot on my cervix- which I didn't even feel. He then got the tube in place and took speculum out again. I did get to watch the pics this time as the dye moved around. He didn't put any balloon or anything into uterus, and didn't hurt me so badly I thought I would die like when the radiologist did it. Dr F said the way radiologists do it is barbaric. I do agree. I had about 1,000mg ibuprofen and a lot of leaking afterward. Fluid and blood was all over the place- yuck! I got cleaned up, dressed and just have some mild cramping and a sick feeling from the shot. I am still sick, but that should go away eventually. whew.

RESULTS: He had a hard time getting the fluid going at first but it did flow through. It came out the left side clearly, but only seeped out on the right. On the screen, the left looked like a thin noodle, but my right side looked full like a sausage w/only a tiny trickle at the end. The right side has some blockage, but Dr. F said it isn't blocked all the way. He said I can con't w/iui's for now. In the future, I could turn to IVF if I wanted & had the dough. He thinks that IVF would work better than any surgery to try and repair things since the repairs might not work & could make it worse. So back onto another iui. IUI # 10. ugh. I asked about going off the clomid, but he wants to stick w/it for now. So I will be back on the same regimen next cycle. He wants to redo some of the cd 3 tests too. so next month... CD3 blood tests, Clomid, injectible (gonal -f), u/s, blood tests, IUI, wait a week, blood tests, and wait another week, do pee sticks and more blood tests. The right side seems to be blocked, but the pain and blood were on the left when i went to the hospital for my "unproven tubal". WUWT? Dr.F said they are all together in a small area, so I guess it is hard to tell what comes from where all the time. He said one tube can pick up a follicle from the opposite ovary too. He was trying to reassure me about the blocked tube. I will keep an eye out for any IVF studies in my area, but for now...IUI. So I will have at least the month off. That is good since I need a break. My butt still hurts from the PIO shots. In June we are going to Chicago for the Blues Fest, (whoohoo!) celebrating my 30th b-day (boo hoo!) and have a bunch of other crap, I mean parties, to attend. So I guess I will be able to relax, have a drink and not worry about blood work or shots while we are running around. Since my mom doesn't know we are ttc and we are going to the blues fest w/her and rest of my family, we won't have to hide anything, or sneak around. That is good!

I am in the process of getting some of my photographs up and running on a professional site, so ppl can buy prints. I am not a computer expert and it is slow going. png, watermarks, uploading, copyright, pixels and layers ...oh my head hurts. Hopefully I'll have it ready soon, though so you can check it out!

I'm here, just busy!

I just found this site thanks to Mothering magazine and I hope if anyone has a sling they no longer need, you would consider donating it to this program. It is a wonderful idea! http://nomotherleftbehind.com/resources/ She has listed a few other resources for low income mom's and you could donate items to any of them if you have other things, but not slings. :) I love to re-use, re-share, re-invent!

I am still busy this week with benefit donations, scrapbooking parties, raingarden planning for my school, and having my car in the shop, .... It never ends. K did get everything torn out of the basement ( it had a sewer back up- yuck!), so hopefully we won't have any more problems. I hope everyone is doing well & I just wanted to hop on for a short note to let you know I was ok and should be back more in another week or so! I have my HSG scheduled for Thursday, so I will try to post results and any new plan Dr.F has for my TTC future.

checkin' in

http://dev.lllusa.org/wbw/index.php Well that was supposed to be a blinking banner that rolls through 5 or so statements. Mine doesn't change. You could go to their website to see all the banners & info on it though!
We are trying to transfer our last D300 vial to another client who is trying for a full sib for her daughter. We don't need it so we will let her try. :) Then we will be spermless once again! haha
I don't know what we are going to do from here on out. I beleive I have gotten briefly pregnant 3 times now. Last spring once we suspect it worked but lost it early, but it is not confirmed. Then the 5 & 1/2 week along "tubal" -still the best guess diagnosis since I was pregnant and had bleeding all around one ovary/tube. Then this last cycle we tried again and it did work for just a couple days, before the cycle ended in a bfp. So I am concerned that something is wrong that is keeping me from sustaining a pregnancy. I don't want to keep doing things if they will never work. My doctor is not keen on testing for anything. We do plan on doing the HSG this month, since we didn't get the insurance approval until it was too late, last cycle. I will consider aspirin therapy, but I don't know what else is available. I also will not take clomid again since I have tried it for 6 months. That is the limit they say you should use it in your lifetime & there are other meds that are supposed to have fewer side affects anyway. So goodbye clomid. I don't know when we will try again, or if we will, or what we will do now.
I have been crazy busy here, with just life crap so haven't been around much. We had Sister's wedding, are getting ready for my friend w/cancer's benefit, work, bills, our basement backed up-gross!, my car broke down & is getting fixed, trying to get yard ready for summer,...I can't even think of what else. I am pooped & brain dead.
I don't really post much at NW anymore. When everything gets crazy I just sit it out. I do check in on everyone there when I get a second- which hasn't been very often lately! I do hope everyone is well and happy. :)
K & I are both looking at our jobs, trying to find better ones, re-evaluating our baby situation, looking at everything again I guess. We need to make some changes! I am trying to set up an account on a web site to sell my photographs & thinking about doing medical transcriptionist. I will try to start posting regularly again soon. :) Talk to you soon!

She saw the crowd & froze on the isle!

This is the back of Sis's wonderful dress, their cake of three flavors with edible candy flowers, and Niece's flower basket after she put her pal Jaguar in it for a ride. The kid really likes big cats! She did let Gma do her hair, but only cuz she used my comb to do her stuffed puppies hair and put bobby pins on his ears at the same time. She only made it as far down the isle as I was taking pics, then said she was scared and froze. Gma had to take her to a chair w/her. Everything else went well! After the wedding, she did go up & down the isle throwing her petals. LOL

whew! I feel like I don't ever get a chance to get on here & relax anymore! LOL Now that Sister's wedding is over, it will be a little less busy, hopefully. The wedding was in our parent's back yard & was short n' sweet- just how she likes it. ( Me too! For a variety of reasons, as a photographer & a lesbian. haha) It was all beautiful and the reception was fun even though I couldn't drink since in the TWW. :)

My friend w/cervical cancer does want some help w/planning her benefit that is the first week of June. She asked if I could help find business donations to raffle/auction off as prizes. Eeeck. (Online biz's welcome in case you have your own & want to advertise!) She is a lesbian, but the benefit will be a wide mix of ppl, -family and friends. So I could ask just about any kind of biz, but I am not a pro at this stuff so I will have to ask my mom for advice. She has done that sort of donation raising before for benefits. I'll try! :) We are going to make cervical cancer ribbons to sell too.
My mom has baby fever too. She told me she was babysitting my new nephew. ? Who? My brother's new puppy. Oh man, I hope I am knocked up so I can give the lady another grandbaby! Every time someone brings around a baby I am afraid she will try to sneak it into her coat & run home. hahaha
Oh, my progesterone was 24.6 BTW. Pretty good I guess. Not as high as I was hoping for, but since I get single digits w/out the PIO shots, it is a big improvement for me! I heard the PIO gives you about 10 points, and the Dr wants to see about 10 points to look like you O'd one egg. So I'm guessing this level matches my estrodial results and points to two, maybe three eggs really being released. So one of them now just needs to get fertilized (well already by now FX), dig in and get cozy, and divide, be healthy and grow in there! Stick little baby, grow healthy in my uterus please! Let your cells multiply healthy and fast, and grow into a full term bouncing baby! FX! Oh for goodness sake, please.

Progesterone vs BFP symptoms quiz

To previous comments, (I always feel like I should respond, LOL!):

Meg- Thanks, & yes that makes me feel better to know you start prog at 24 hrs past last iui!
Michell- Thanks! Marshmallows & jello...well gelatin, is made with bone. yuck! LOL

Pic is the finished product from candy making Sat, all bagged & ready for the reception hall.

I take progesterone to help sustain any pregnancy I might manage to have, ha ha ha. ( hear the sarcasm?) Anyhoo, progesterone can give you many symptoms that seem like pregnancy. Last cycle, when I did get a temporary bfp, I had symptoms again, but there were differences! Now I have some ideas on what to watch for to see if it is bfp or progesterone, so here it goes: Take the quiz!

Sneezing and hiccups ....progesterone sign or bfp cycle sign? ding ding ding- bfp cycle! Weird huh? Painful boobies....ok trick Q, happened during both, but during bfp my nipples were very sore, sensitive, and hot. On prog whole boob is full and sore to pressure. Tired...prog or bfp? Again both w/a difference, prog makes me more sedate in general, but w/bfp I had a couple days when I could barely keep my eyes open & actually took naps, which I don't do. It was only for about 2 days around 9-10 dpo I think. Then I perked back up enuf to stay awake! Nausea.... prog or bfp? Progesterone has made me feel sick alot but didn't really with bfp. Bigger boobs... prog or bfp? Both really, but again even bigger w/bfp and areolas got bigger too. Much bigger changes overall, than what I get w/just prog and bfn. Big veins show up on chest.... prog or bfp? Prog makes this happen every time.

So basically I am hoping to start sneezing & get painful boobs (& nipples) soon! FX So far nada. Blah. I know I am only like 5 dpo, but still! I am bummed because my boobs are still not even progesterone sore, let alone bfp sore. Calling all good wishes & prayers- 2 more days til prog test! FX!

Good luck to all my cycle buddies! (((hugs))) TK

Stress and Candy

My pic is choc coated marshmallows I made yesterday w/mom & sis. We then stuck all the sticks into chinese food box type containers w/green grass in them. They are now ready to be very cute, edible decorations at my sisters wedding next weekend! Can you believe I worked that hard & they didn't even buy any vegetarian marshmallows so I could eat some too? Jeez, lol!
It is the first week of the tww so I like to over analyze & find new things I wish I had known ahead of time so I can torture myself. ha ha I second guess all my decisions now, while I wait for time to have my progesterone tested (Thurs), and then POAS (long time). Let's share some stress!
  • Did you know other fert dr's say to start PIO shots at 3 dpo? Mine has been letting me start kinda whenever, but says to do it the day after my iui. (1 dpo) ack! Does anyone else start so early w/progesterone? I do make sure not to start it until at least 48 hrs past my trigger, so I can be fairly sure that I already O'd.
  • I never did get a + on my opk's this month. What does that mean? Did I even O? I have never had that happen before, even when using the trigger shot & other meds. I have still been having O like achy pains, which hopefully are just the unruptured follicles that I didn't use. I hope at least a few did get released! ugh
  • I am on antibiotics & antivirals, that can't be good, but can't be avoided either.

Well more stress later, I have to go to bed so I can get up for work- phooey.

Gross things

(pic is in FL on vaca, feeding the seagulls)

When I went in & had my first IUI, the nurse told me that my insurance co had called and approved my HSG. Thanks. A bit late now. Sigh...SO if this cycle is a bfn, I can someday have a HSG done. If I have another tubal I will be angry w/them. The dr said I have about a 20% chance of having a second one. One increases your chances of having another. That's crappy, I must say. The HSG would tell us exactly how much damage (if any) that I have, & at the same time clear my tubes out making it less likely to happen again.

So here is some TMI for you...my boobs started having some tingling and zippy feelings today- BEFORE I had my first PIO shot tonight. Yippee doodles! That tells us that I have some progesterone flowin'. My cervix had also closed and lowered this morning. So far all signs are good that we had fair timing. :) We did have a little PIO mishap though. When K gave me my shot I bled. Alot. Like gushed out and all over the bed. I looked back & thought "She hit a vein, I'm gonna bleed to death!", but it stopped right away. Whew. It was scary though & I am worried that she did do my shot into a vein which would mess up the progesterone absorbtion time or amount or something. Please no! Has anyone else ever done that? Is it alright? Will it hurt anythng?

I am on antibiotics & antivirals, :( but dr & pharmacy both say they are safe for pregnancy so we'll see. They are only for a week and low doses. My jaw keeps swelling up and my dr doesn't know why and doesn't seem to believe in testing. She likes to throw some drugs on it & see if it gets better. She said it might be a salivatory duct stone. WTCrap? Like kidney stones but in my saliva duct. Let me explain here, that I get sick and it is usually something weird enough to be annoying or strange or hard to diagnose, but not to the point of being life threatening. (normally) ACK! I hate that! I would love to be sick w/something average and easily curable. LOL Hopefully, none of this will affect any possible implantation or baby, and my face will stop swelling up like a waterballoon. Embarrassing! I can only guess what the people at work think!

Hope you are all having a less messy and gross day! LOL

Here we are

{pic is from camping trip in Feb}

Both IUI's are done! I'm now into the TWW and PUPO, heehee. K is very sternly telling me that we will NOT get excited and NOT tell anyone that we are trying this time. She insists it will jinx us. Infact we will NOT be getting excited, even if we get a bfp, until we get to the 6 week u/s & know that it is in the right place & everything looks ok. Then we plan to continue with careful quiet optimism until well into the second trimester. I guess once we can't hide the belly any more, it will be about time for us to feel ok about shouting it from the roof tops.

My first iui was at 6 hrs past trigger shot, & second was at 29 hrs past. So far I have had the normal crampy bloated feelings. I will start the Progesterone in oil shots tomorrow night, which will be more than 48 hrs past trigger. My estrodial was only 430 so I probably had 2 or 3 real eggs. The other follicles should shrink? or something? I dunno. But 2-3 was my end eggie total.

OH, whew. I can't believe I am here again. I don't want to have to come back any time soon.

eggie update

{pic is peacock in WA, couple yrs ago}
Just a quick eggie update... as of this morning all 3 eggies on left have grown and are ready averaging 20mm. The right side eggie team has a leader at 20mm, one at 18mm and a scraggler at 15 mm. AAHH well, not everyone can make it to first place in the race I suppose! I haven't gotten the estrodial result yet, but hopefully it is close to 1000. I will def get the trigger shot sometime today! Yippee! Grow eggies, grow!

Waiting for the follies to grow

Well Mondays u/s showed 6 follies all averaging around 15 mm each. 3 on each ovary. ( I was hoping for most to be on the right, due to tubal on left. shrug. ) My Estrodial was only about 230 though. :( So I took two more days of gonal-f (for a total of 5 days). I go back in Wed morning at 7 am to check follies and estrodial again. They should be ready to go! Nurse #2 said they should grow about 2mm ev day, so by morning they expect them to be around 19-20 mm. My estrodial should go up too, FX! They want to see roughly 1 follie for every 200 units of estrodial. The less estrodial I have, the fewer of the follies actually contain good eggs. aahhh sigh.
To keep my mind off the waiting, I have kept myself nauseous all week. My tooth had a cap that came off & couldn't be fixed. So the dentist is putting in a bridge. I have a dental phobia and get some sort of sedation when I go to the dentist & I have been having a BAD reaction to the lorazopram stuff. I took it twice this week & both times have left me sick for 2 days! Yucky sick and shaky headed. Fun fun! I keep telling myself it is practice for morning sickness, HA!

Shipping of swimmers

Here is pic of Dewar that our swimmers come in when shipped from sperm bank. This is the dewar with top lifted off and I am lifting the handle up that lifts the canes up so you can reach them. You can see 3 canes showing in the middle. Those are then lifted and on each one a vial (or more than 1) are stuck to them. You can then pull a vial off the cane and defrost it. The dewar (tank) actually stays inside the box the whole time. Everything inside is very cold & you are supposed to wear gloves to touch any of it-including vial until it defrosts. ( My nurse did not wear gloves at last iui, making me wonder about how cold it really is, but that is was instructions say so better safe than sorry! Good thing she didn't see my face when she reached in with bare hand & popped the vial off. I thought we would have to go to the ER for a second!)
